Jürgen M. Pietsch takes pictures with a large-format camera in black and white. His concern lies with the historical relics, not the people who look at them. His images are characterized by great clarity and open up new and different perspectives, undistorted by customary ways of seeing.
In the exhibition catalogue, which is approximately 130 pages in length, 90 black-and-white photographs are presented side by side with brief descriptions by witnesses to the historical events. A link is thus forged between Jürgen M. Pietsch’s contemporary views and the occurrences of the past.
